Learn How Easy Composting Can Be
There are all sorts of easy composting methods and big expensive machines you can buy to help you but composting is much simpler then that. Easy composting can be done by everyone everywhere it’s simple and recycles the wastes that we have. The best part is it provides free soil for your square foot garden.
I know that I was intimidated but the prospect of starting a compost pile. I didn’t want it to stink up my yard. I didn’t want an ugly pile of garbage out where everyone could see. I didn’t want to put in the effort to get it started. These were all things that crossed my mine but I am glad I got over the fear. After a little bit of initial effort and little bit of research I have successfully been composting for two years.
First I want to say that when composting is done right it does not stink. Your compost pile should be a perfect balance of micro-organisms that rapidly decompose the organic materials that you put in. Depending on the way you compost very little will be required of you to make it work.
Second most compost piles are in some type of container whether it be a professionally made one or one you make yourself (my favorite kind of composter, since they work just as well and are cheaper). I have to say that most people who come to my home have no idea that the small black box on my patio is a composter.
The final step was just to start. Start separating out what I could compost vs. what I couldn’t and put the waste in the appropriate containers. It’s really as simple as that. Just throw the right waste in the right container. I now have free compost soil and have put my waste to good use.
